The Matrix Revolutions (2003) Known Trivia

  • The street corner where Neo and Smith fight in the crater is the same corner from which Neo made his phone call at the end of The Matrix (1999) - the corner of Pitt, Hunter and O'Connell Streets in Sydney, Australia. You can see the phone booth to the right when they hit the ground. 34 of 34 found this interesting Interesting? Yes No |
  • Many of the "raindrops" in the final fight between Neo and Smith are actually single lines of Matrix code, similar to those on displays seen in the "real world" throughout the trilogy. This subtle effect was added to imply the Matrix was beginning to destabilize. This visual trick was easily seen on IMAX and larger movie theaters, but can be seen on smaller televisions as banded rain that seems to "jump" like static during close ups of the fight scenes. 47 of 48 found this interesting Interesting? • In an unprecendented simultaneous global release, this film opened at exactly the same moment in every major city in the world on November 5: 6am in Los Angeles, 9am in New York, 2pm in London, 5pm in Moscow, 11pm in Tokyo, 1am in Sydney and at corresponding times in over 50 additional countries worldwide. 60 of 62 found this interesting Interesting? • The name of the station between the Machine World and The Matrix is called Mobil Ave. Mobil is an anagram of Limbo, the traditional station between Heaven and Earth. 45 of 46 found this interesting Interesting? Yes No |
  • Ian Bliss was cast as Bane in part because of his dead-on impression of Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith), and for his partial resemblance to Weaving. 30 of 30 found this interesting Interesting? Yes No |
  • The last scene of the movie set in the park is the only time in all three movies that greenery and a blue sky are seen inside the Matrix. 30 of 30 found this interesting Interesting? Yes No |
  • During the final fight sequence between Neo and Agent Smith and also during the credits, the following Sanskrit sloka is recited in a westernised style: "Asatoma Sat Gamaya, Tamasoma Jyotir Gamaya, Mrityorma Anritam Gamaya", which means "Lead me from the unreal to the Real, Lead me from the darkness to the Light, Lead me from the temporary to the Eternal". 34 of 35 found this interesting Interesting? Yes No |
  • Keanu Reeves reportedly earned $15 million for the film, the equivalent of $400,000 for every minute of screen time. 34 of 36 found this interesting Interesting? Yes No |
  • Gloria Foster died before she could complete any scenes for the third film as well as Enter the Matrix (2003). Mary Alice took the role of the Oracle for both the third movie and the game. In "Revolutions", the initial conversation when Morpheus and Trinity meet the "new" Oracle was adapted to reference her changed appearance. The alternative was to have Morpheus and Trinity pretend not to notice, which perhaps would have been even more awkward. 31 of 33 found this interesting Interesting? Yes No |
  • Seraph is the singular of Seraphim, a Hebrew word that literally means in English: "the burning ones". However, the word in Hebrew is another name for "Angels" 14 of 14 found this interesting Interesting? Yes No |

Goofs: Continuity: During the dock battle, when Charra is carrying the rocket launcher and Zee is loading the rockets, the front camera angle shows two empty tubes. An immediate switch to a top down angle shows Zee suddenly finish loading the second rocket.

The Matrix Revolutions (2003) Story: Neo discovers that somehow he is able to use his powers in the real world too and that his mind can be freed from his body, as a result of which he finds himself trapped on a train station between the Matrix and the Real World. Meanwhile, Zion is preparing for the oncoming war with the machines with very little chances of survival. Neo's associates set out to free him from The Merovingian since it's believed that he is the One who will end the war between humans and the machines. What they do not know is that there is a threat from a third party, someone who has plans to destroy both the worlds. Written bySoumitra

Giant (1956) Known Trivia

  • Rock Hudson and Elizabeth Taylor went for get-to-know-you drinks one night at the very start of the production. They both got exceedingly drunk, finishing the evening at 3:00 am. Their call-time was 5:30 am. Fortunately the scene being shot that morning was a wedding scene with no dialog, so instead of talking, all they had to do was look lovingly at each other. The two actors were concentrating so hard on not being sick that they were quite surprised when some of the people on-set started to cry, so convinced were they of their supposed looks of adoration at each other. 47 of 47 found this interesting Interesting? Yes No |
  • Carroll Baker, who plays Elizabeth Taylor's daughter, was older in real life than Taylor. 27 of 27 found this interesting Interesting? Yes No |
  • (1955) During this production shoot James Dean appeared in an informal black & white TV commercial in which he responded to questions posed by actor Gig Young. Ironically, Dean was promoting safe driving and informed viewers, "People say racing is dangerous, but I'd rather take my chances on the track any day than on the highway." Before he left the studio he added one piece of advice: "Drive safely, because the life you save may be mine." Dean was wearing the very hat and clothing he wore for this movie throughout the commercial. He perished a few weeks later in a car crash. 24 of 24 found this interesting Interesting? Yes No |
  • When Rock Hudson was cast, director George Stevens asked him whom he preferred as his leading lady, 'Grace Kelly' or Elizabeth Taylor. Hudson picked Elizabeth Taylor, who was cast in the film and ended up becoming lifelong friends with Hudson. 23 of 23 found this interesting Interesting? Yes No |
  • In the 40s and 50s the usual policy for films where characters would start young and get older was to cast older actors and de-age them to show them as their younger selves. "Giant" took the then largely radical step of doing the opposite - casting younger actors and using make-up to make them appear older. 21 of 21 found this interesting Interesting? Yes No |
  • James Dean was so completely immersed in his character that he hardly ever changed out of his costume. 18 of 18 found this interesting Interesting? Yes No |
  • In the 2005 DVD release, there is what appears to be an inside joke in the title of one scene. The birthday party scene, in which Bick forces his visibly unhappy son to ride a horse, is titled "Uneasy Rider." Bick's son is played in adulthood by Dennis Hopper, who would go on to co-write, direct and star in Easy Rider (1969). 17 of 17 found this interesting Interesting? Yes No |
  • The start date of the film was delayed a few months so that Elizabeth Taylor could give birth to a son. 15 of 15 found this interesting Interesting? Yes No |
  • The massive painting seen on the set of the Benedict home is now in the Menger Hotel in San Antonio, Texas. It has hung in several spots in the original 1800s section of the hotel. 15 of 15 found this interesting Interesting? Yes No |
  • Location filming took place for two months outside the tiny Texas town of Marfa. Director George Stevens did not have a closed set but actively encouraged the townspeople to come by, either to watch the shooting, visit with the cast and crew or take part as extras, dialect coaches, bit players and stagehands. 13 of 13 found this interesting Interesting? Yes No |
